Our Full Range of Initiatives
Meeting people where they are —not where the system expects them to be.
Healing at the River
In laundromats across the South Side, while clothes spin and rinse, something extraordinary happens. We offer Healing at the River—free health screenings, blood pressure checks, health teaching, and meaningful conversations while people wash. We sponsor many of these washes so that families can experience both clean clothes and clean starts. Here, health feels human again—shared between neighbors, not hidden behind clinic walls.
Healing at the Table
In churches and community spaces, we set tables not just for food—but for connection. Healing at the Table brings health screenings, health education, and emotional support to those who gather for a meal, no questions asked. When possible, we sponsor these meals—because nourishment and dignity are the first medicines. Care should never depend on what’s in your wallet; it should depend on what’s in your community.
Education & Workforce Training
Health science workshops for teens, community certification programs, and internships for public health students.
Artist-In-Residence Program
Local artists using public health themes to drive education, awareness, and healing through performance, visual storytelling, and mural projects.
Health Fairs & Resource Drives
Mobile events providing screening, education, and essential resources in partnership with local orgs and mutual aid networks.
Community Research Pods
Participatory research projects designed with and by residents, focusing on housing justice, youth sexual health, and neighborhood safety.
